Living Room Inspiration

Clean and crisp look.

I like the neutral color base line with a punch of color in light gold or Tiffany/pale blue via pillows. Might be interested in unique pieces of end tables or accent tables. I don't mind one piece of white metal end table. OK with zebra print.  I don't want a too conservative brown room with no color or texture.

We need to leave room for a grand piano.  Not sure if which corner to put the grand piano.

It is good to have multiple seating areas.

The living room will only be used when we have more than 30+ people party which people float around the house.  This room is probably more for show than anything.

Since we have a kid, everything can't be too delicate.  My kid is jumping up and down on the antique chairs we just bought already.

Foyer Inspiration

Still figuring what to do with that large entry space.  An entry table does not seem interesting.  The size of that entry table is important given the space we have.

In terms of the entry hallway, we can potentially explore a painting and a bench/settee at the foyer hallway in addition to other pieces.  Alternatively, a console table with two chairs on the side will also work.

Here are some concepts (painting + bench/settee).  I also realized that the ceiling in that area is not big enough for a giant painting.  A mid-size one will do as well.

We also need a long mirror or a painting at the foyer alcove.

Maybe put two plants, chairs or consoles by the front front.  Low priority for now.

I want something unique.

Family Room Inspiration

The sofa designs below are interesting. I like the base color neutral. We will use color via pillows.  The designer/custom look is critical.

The view of our family room is good.  I don't want to block the view with a big piece of furniture.  Need to figure out how to arrange sofas/chairs so that we can watch TV, enjoy the view, work and watch kids.

Need to figure out what to do with the alcove in the family.   This could be an area where our child can play and I can also work with my laptop there.  Maybe a nice bench or daybed with pillows.  Maybe put a sheer curtain for kids to hide away.

We might need an entertainment center or console below the flat screen TV.  We probably won't purchase this until we can figure out if we can do without a TV in the family.  I don't want my kid to watch too much TV.

I like roll arm sofas.  However, I am open for different designs.  I also prefer sofas with one large cushion.  If we have many cushions for a sofa, I am afraid kid's toys or food will be caught.

Need stain resistance - kid friendly.  The frame of sofa and furniture needs to be strong in case kids  knock them down.  No sharp corner.

Dining Room Inspiration

I like the following dining rooms but I don't think the strong color will work for our home. I want a rectangle table. I am still debating about the shape of chairs. I know I don't want anything too modern or ornate. I also don't want sets that can be easily found at pottery barn.

The chairs need to be at the right height.  I wish I can take some chairs home first to see how they look.

Need painting, mirror and a nice chandelier (6 to 8?).  Need window treatment for street facing window.

Sizes:  work in progress
at least 120-132 inches length with leaf extension
10-12 chairs including 2 arms
30 inches height for dining table
40 inches height for buffet table (not too high)

    Curtain

I like this particular light gold curtain. It might work for dining room or living room. Will it work with so much sun light?

    Lamps

    Interesting lamps from Horchow.
